There’s chemistry between us

I’m unable to make my mind over who I am.
Who am I? What I am to do in this world ?
Everything that interests me has been done before.
Love makes everything worth it, you say?
But how can you build on ephemeral illusions?
Merely mammal instincts?
Disillusion is only the next logical step.
It poisons any left joy or sweet reminiscence.
It kills your beautiful loved one in one shot,
His delicious eyes and smile,
The fragrance of his hair,
The glint of the sun on his cheeks,
On a spring morning.
Radiant beauty.
Irritatingly overrated.
He’s mine! Oust! You sleazy Rats!
His face is sculpted in bronze,
Glazed with liquid gold.
He’s Uranium,
Bursting with energy.
He’s Mercury,
Plump and slippery.
He’s Silver,
Only he, understands the moon’s whispers.
There’s chemistry between us, you see,
And chemistry is the study of change.
